Shock Jocks (AlterNet Books) author, Rory O’Connor, was featured on veteran journalist Bill Moyers ground breaking program, Bill Moyers Journal. We were thrilled to see our cover design on public television in such distinguished company. Mr. Moyers has archived the shows. I did write to him to request that he do this. He listened ;-)

Bright City Books Shows Environmental Leadership

The latest publication from Bright City Books proudly bears the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) logo. It’s entitled Vegas 360° by photographer Thomas Schiff, and is his fourth collection of panoramic photographs. Art and culture critic Dave Hickey declares Schiff’s images “a gift to us all . . .” and in addition to Schiff’s 64 luxuriously saturated images, there are seven remarkable essays by prominent Las Vegas observers. Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Paper: What Is It?

This says it all from the Forest Stewardship Council web site: …in order to use the FSC logo as an “environmental claim” on paper, the product must have flowed through the FSC “chain-of-custody” from the FSC-certified forest, to a paper manufacturer, merchant, and finally printer who have FSC chain-of-custody certification.

While recycled fiber is a key element of the traditional model for responsible consumption, it is becoming increasingly clear that forest management in the production of the wood used in paper manufacturing, has more fundamental importance than even recycled fiber… The intent of the FSC system is to shift the market to eliminate habitat destruction, water pollution, displacement of indigenous peoples and violence against people and wildlife that often accompanies logging.

Yep, this paper has environmental provenance.
