The Back Story
Terra Studio was founded in 2001 by creative director/designer Robin Terra. Robin studied design, fine and liberal arts at the University of California, earning a degree in graphic design from the California College of the Arts (CCA).
Robin has developed identity and branding systems, promotional materials, environmental graphics, packaging and publication designs working for a broad range of companies and publishing groups that include: ACLU of Northern California, AlterNet Books, The Burdick Group, Esprit, Johnson and Johnson/BabyCenter, Metropolitan Home magazine, Parallax Press, Time Inc Health, UC Press Journals and many more.
Robin has helped launch numerous editorial projects including the first all-digital magazine utilizing Texterity’s innovative technology, Greenlight digital, as well as earth-friendly book publishing startups for AlterNet Books and Bright City Books. Taking each project from concept to delivery, Terra Studio designed, produced and sourced green vendors.
It’s in the DNA: Journalism and Art
Robin learned to “always understand the content first” from her American journalist/writer father (who as a newspaper reporter covered President John F. Kennedy’s inauguration) and “to follow her creative muse” from her English travel agent/poet mother (who was brought to the U.S. as a teacher with the deposed King and Queen of Yugoslavia, meeting the likes of Greta Garbo and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor).
